“Welcoming” Immunizations in 2016

Massachusetts requires students to have immunizations in order to be in school. To be sure that BPS complies with the regulations, parents must provide evidence that their child is immunized to meet the state requirements, when enrolling  at the Welcoming Centers.  This table describes these requirements  .

Please note that in previous years, the state considered K1 applicants (ie  4 year old at start of school year) to require the same immunizations as the regular K2 kindergartners (age 5 at start of the school year). This year, K1 applicants will be considered as pre schoolers and need only 1MMR and 1Varicella for registration.

This recent change has not yet been updated in the general BPS website.
