Flu watch

This is a quote from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health:

“The first weekly flu report of the New Year shows an increase in rates of flu-like illness and other indicators since last week’s edition. This is to be expected at this time of year in New England – where flu season doesn’t tend to peak until February or even March. All of this is to say that there is absolutely still time to protect yourself and your loved ones from getting the flu, by getting a flu shot. Call your health care provider or local board of health, or visit a local pharmacy that offers flu vaccinations onsite. Here’s to a healthy 2015!”

Parents…if your child has a cough, aches, fever, please keep your child home from school until he/she is 24 hours of no fever without the use of fever reducing medicines. Call your provider if you have concerns. S/He will help you decide if your child needs to be seen.
